George Michael released a statement following his caution for possession of class A and class C drugs. He was arrested in a public lavatory in north London on Friday.
"I want to apologize to my fans for screwing up again, and to promise them I'll sort myself out. And to say sorry to everybody else, just for boring them," he said.
Michael, 45, was reportedly arrested after a tip-off from a suspicious attendant after he was seen loitering in underground lavatories in London's Hampstead Heath.
When officers arrived Michael was still in the lavatory and police reportedly found him in possession of cannabis and crack cocaine.
In a candid interview for BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs last year, Michael talked openly about his drug use. He said: "I'm a happy man and I can afford my marijuana so that's not a problem."
But the recent incident is not the first time Michael has found himself on the wrong side of the law. In 1998 he was arrested in public toilets in Beverly Hills, California for engaging in a lewd act.
