An armed robber cited the country's poor economy during a holdup at a Houston bank, FBI officials say.
FBI Special Agent Shauna Dunlap said the suspect referenced his economic woes at about 10:30 a.m. Monday while pointing a handgun at tellers at a Compass bank at 12514 Tomball Parkway.
"He said, 'I'm only doing this to eat, they’re not letting me work," Dunlap told FOXNews.com on Tuesday.
The suspect then piled cash into a black nylon bag as his partner — armed with a shotgun — stood guard on customers and employees at the bank.
Witnesses described the suspect who referenced the economy — dubbed the "Hungry Bandit" by FBI officials — as a black man in his 30s standing about 5 feet 7inches tall with a medium build. He also wore a fake mustache and beard, Dunlap said.
