Windy conditions caused a speedboat to flip during a Budweiser Drag Boat Nationals race, but remarkably, the boat's driver survived.Joe Peroceschi, of Muskego, Wis., was thrown from his boat, "Smokin Joe," during a race Sunday on Wappapello Lake in southeast Missouri.
Windy conditions lifted the boat from behind, at one point making it perpendicular to the lake.
Peroceschi, who reportedly shattered his pelvis, was racing against Rick Conklin of Ottawa, Ill., and his boat, Poppa's Toy.
