You Can Handle The Truth

The revelations of what occured the day after Thanksgiving -- when Tiger's life came undone -- show the golfer and his wife in a frantic state just hours after she learned that Woods had been cheating on her.

Before the crash, sources told The Daily Beast in a report posted today that Woods, 34, gave his wife, Elin, a head's up that the National Enquirer was going to run a story claiming that he had an affair with Manhattan club manager Rachel Uchitel.

Woods swore to her that the story was false and that he had met Uchitel a few times at social outings. Elin, however, remained suspicious, sources told The Daily Beast.

He was able to convince Uchitel to talk to his wife. The two had a 30-minute chat, where Uchitel was able to convince Elin that her relationship with Tiger was purely platonic, the Web site reported.

On Thanksgiving Day, Elin learned some of the Enquirer’s specifics about the affair and an argument took place. Sources told The Daily Beast that Woods took Ambien to fall asleep once the argument ended.

While asleep, Elin looked through Woods' cellphone and found Uchitel’s number, discovering a damning text message that read: "You are the only one I've loved."

That's when Elin went berserk. At about 1 a.m., Elin began frantically texting Uchitel -- pretending to be Woods -- and wrote, "I miss you," and asked, "When are we seeing each other again?"

Uchitel texted back. The Daily Beast reported that Elin called Uchitel, who answered thinking it was Woods.

"Oh f----!" a stunned Uchitel blurted out before hanging up, the Web site reported.

Elin then woke a disoriented Woods up. The Daily Beast reported that Elin began punching him in the chest and arms, then finally chased him out of the house wielding a golf club.

Shoeless, Woods ran into his car and hit the gas, careening off a fire hydrant and then smashing into a nearby tree.
