Court records show Marc Stovall created a plan to come into a Mesa 7-Eleven by calling the store during the day and pretending to be a new employee. During the training session, the man was taught to use the cash register.
Stovall then returned to the store about 10:30 p.m. and wanted to buy some soda, a frozen drink and duct tape, but when customers walked into the store he said he no longer wanted the duct tape. He came to the store a third time about an hour later and said he wanted to buy beer, but instead pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the clerk.
Stovall then motioned her to the back room, police say, and told her to "get in there," before holding the gun to her head and chest, then binding her wrists and ankles with duct tape and leaving her in the bathroom.
Stovall then went to the front of the store and began helping customers as if he worked there, but he had no idea the clerk had freed herself and found his gun. When he turned around, he saw his own gun pointed at him and his "eyes got wide and he quickly left the store."
Or Maybe He Is.......Police were able to track down Stovall because while he was on the cash register, a customer came in the store and recognized the him as her neighbor. That person later gave police an address.
