A 20-year-old man and 18-year-old woman are accused of stealing a tiny baby marmoset from the Zoo of Acadiana.
Broussard Police Chief Brannon Decou said the 6-month-old monkey had been missing for four days when an anonymous caller told Broussard police that the monkey had been taken.
Police found the monkey at the home of Zachary Chase Guidroz and arrested him and Emily Elizabeth Trosclair.
Decou said neither said why they took the tiny animal, which was still nursing and weighs less than an egg.
They were booked and charged with theft. The monkey has been reunited with its mother.
