That picture and this story are a perfect commentary on Street's mayorial reign. Put another way, you mean to tell me that taxpayer money is going to pay this man to sit outside a store for the duration of this working day? Unbelievable.
Why doesn't this article highlight the fact that Street doesn't have the connections to just get one directly from Apple. He's the mayor of one of the country's largest cities. Peter Gammons just wrote an article saying that a huge number of professional baseball players already have one. No wonder he waited in line for the day, he wouldn't have gotten anything done had he spent that day in the office.
That's Philadelphia Mayor John Street, waiting outside a Center City AT&T location to buy an Apple iPhone, which goes on sale 6 p.m. today.
