This dejected fat kid walks by my home every evening. He is religiously late for practice and never walks with any other kids. I feel like asking him, "Kid, did you really think you were going to be a star? Lets be honest, some middle school coach told you to try out solely because you are morbidly obese." But, most days I just nod at him.
